Happy Tails

Happy-Tails-Arwen

Arwen

Seven years old and seven pounds of sweet and spunk, Arwen came to A Brighter Day from a cruelty case of over 50 cats and dogs. Arwen found her perfect match with a new mom, dad and two chihuahua siblings who were eager for a new sister. Her pastimes include playing with small plush squeaky toys and burrowing under the blankets while relaxing next to her furever family on the couch.

Happy-Tails-Jess

New Girl, Jess

This family knew right away that Jess would be the perfect fit for their family, even coming to visit her in the catio space. Jess gains two kitty siblings, Jeffrey and Hazel, as well as two human kiddos for her to chase around. Jess has already enjoyed numerous naps in the comfort of her new mama’s lap while purring the whole time. From being abandoned behind a dumpster to now, snuggled up with her new family, cozy inside; we couldn’t ask for a better fit.

Orion

Orion came to us when his old owner was no longer able to provide the care he needed. He ate everything we fed him (and more!), and now he’s a ham of a man! He has a happy family, and a sister who’s teaching him how to Dog. He’s learned about the wonders of the beach and the joy of sleeping face-to-butt with his whole family.

Panini

Panini (now Penny) was adopted by her dad, Randy. She lives in a
beautiful log cabin surrounded by a lot of beautiful land. Randy
understood all of her needs, with a quiet, slow approach to making
Penny comfortable until she learned to love and trust him. Randy is a
big dog lover, his vet office raved about how well he had taken care
of his previous dogs. Now she knows “sit”, “shake paws” and has even gained enough confidence to find her voice! She loves going for walks on the property and is very curious.

Sienna

Sienna was adopted by Jennifer and family. She now has a boxer sibling
named Peanut and a big house of her very own. Sienna enjoys being the family’s “office buddy”, snuggling up near the computer monitor.

Kat

Kat was adopted around the holidays by her mom Aubrey! Kat now has a morning routine full of zoomies and playtime while her mom has meetings on her laptop, followed by snuggle time, and watching movies on the bed at night. Her personality is blossoming more each day and she now has a furever
home full of love. She shares a home with Aubrey’s roommate and their
dog, Malcolm.

Old Man Grey

Our FIV+ rescue, “Old Man Grey”, now “Otto Maddox Gorgonzola”, was adopted and we could not be happier for him!

His new family is compassionate towards FIV felines and he couldn’t be luckier for it. He now joins his three other feline siblings, one of his new brothers being ABD alumni, “Bubbles”, now “Tate”.

Lil Bit

We have some WONDERFUL 4th of July news – Lil Bit has been adopted! From being abused on the streets as a puppy to living in a big home, with a big yard, and furever family FULL of love!

We have all heard that animal rescue sometimes takes a village, this case was no different. Thank you to everyone who was there for LB when she needed you most and for being part of her happily ever after!

He will spend his life in a loving furever home with lots of window space to watch birds, all the toys, and so much love and care! Thank you to his awesome foster dad and to CityPets Animal Hospital for helping care for him in preparation for his new life!

Izzy

Chip and Sparrow

A repeat adopter took home both Chip and Sparrow! They’re loving their new home, and developing a brotherhood for the ages.

Honey Bun (Sunny)

This senior gal has finally found her furever home! Thank you to her INCREDIBLE foster family for loving and understanding her and supporting her along her journey! Sunny’s mom is the perfect fit for this loving beagle and we couldn’t be happier with the outcome. In rescue, it really does take a village to make success stories like this happen and ABD couldn’t be more thankful to everyone who helps us with our mission.

Goldie Fawn (Velveeta)

Sweet kitten “Goldie Fawn” (now “Velveeta”, aka “VV”) was adopted last night! This lucky girl has a very loving new mom and dad and a new cat brother named “Floof”! She settled in immediately and she could not have found a better furever home. Thank you to her surrenderers, her caretakers through ABD, and to her brand new family!

Pluto

Little kitten Pluto has officially been adopted! Around Halloween, ABD President and her husband noticed meowing coming from underneath the deck of their home. After much searching, it was discovered that this little girl was hiding in the most impossible spot underneath the house. How lucky she was to have found sanctuary underneath of the home of an experienced trapper! After waiting a large portion of the day to see if there was a mama cat that would be returning back to her, it was determined that the likelihood was very slim and traps were setup. Within the hour, hungry Pluto had been saved! Several other traps were placed in hopes that there was still a mama to be found or possibly other siblings, which were never discovered.

So ABD brought in this little kitten and took her to our amazing vets at CityPets Animal Hospital for an intake exam as it was observed that she had an injured ear (not an ear tip) and was quite young. We learned she had an injury on her paw as well as a fractured tooth. Lucky for this little lady, one of the incredible Vet Techs there immediately fell in love with her! She decided she wanted to adopt and she was setup into our Foster to Adopt program until she could be spayed. The hero Vet Tech named her Pluto. Pluto has been with her new loving family ever since awaiting her spay. That day has come and she is OFFICIALLY adopted into her furever family!

We cannot thank Pluto’s adoptive family and CityPets 614 Animal Hospital enough for being a part of her story and helping us rescue this sweet kitten! We often say, “rescuing takes a village” and that saying never fails when there is so much proof in every rescue story we share! Let’s CELEBRATE PLUTO!!!

You may have recently seen us post this sweet beagle, Muggs. The founder of ABD lost her mother very unexpectedly and we were looking for a perfect home for him after he tragically lost his owner. He has been a part of the family since he was a puppy and is now over 10 yrs old. He had a rough road to get here, but we can happily say, he’s made it to his furever home.

Thankfully, as luck would have it, he is the perfect foster fail. One of our incredible fosters, who has fostered senior beagles for us before, was willing to take on Muggs in his time of need. He could not have gone with a more perfect family for him. Muggs can now live out the rest of his days in a home with a mom & dad, a beagle brother and cat siblings. A fenced in yard in a quiet neighborhood, with a family that fully understands his needs.

We are eternally grateful to this very special foster family. We can breathe a little easier knowing that this very special dog gets to feel safe, loved, and properly cared for, for the rest of his life. Thank you to all who shared our posts and to the adoptive family for giving him the life he deserves.

Mama “Flossy” and Baby “Toothless” were officially adopted TOGETHER! They were brought into ABD by a couple of Good Samaritans in late summer. Flossy had been visiting the same house daily. The good humans were feeding her daily, as she had been trying to get into their trash previously. One day, Flossy did not return. Then, the next day arrived with little kitten Toothless. No other kittens were discovered. The couple took them in and started reaching out to rescues. The rest is history! We have had Toothless’s in our care since he was six days old and his eyes were not open yet.

Flossy and Toothless have always been very bonded. Flossy being more shy and cautious, Toothless being the curious, wild child. They play all day, Flossy pausing for lots and lots of cuddles.  Now they have found their furever home!  They have a loving new mama, who understands that they need time to become brave and comfortable. They get to be their vulnerable, derpy selves. We are so grateful!  Let’s celebrate Flossy and Toothless!!

Hank’s Brighter Days Are Here! We are beyond thrilled to announce that Hank, our beautiful blind Persian boy, has officially been adopted!

Hank has endured more transitions in less than a year than most cats face in a lifetime. After the heartbreaking loss of his owner, he was rescued by compassionate individuals who made sure he was safe and given a second chance. From there, his journey continued through loving foster care, medical treatments, and lots of patience and support.

We are incredibly grateful to his dedicated fosters who gave him stability, comfort, and love during such an uncertain time. You helped him heal and trust again. A very special thank you to CityPets Animal Hospital for the extensive care and commitment you gave Hank. As a medical case, he required extra attention, and your team worked so closely with him every step of the way. We truly couldn’t have done this without you. And to the kind people who stepped in immediately after his owner passed — thank you for making sure he didn’t fall through the cracks. Your compassion changed his future. Most of all, thank you to his amazing adopter. Hank now has a forever home, a mom who understands and loves Persians, and a cat brother to share his days with. He is safe. He is cherished. He is home.

Sweet Hank is one of the gentlest souls — resilient, loving, and so deserving of this happy ending. This is exactly why we do what we do!
